A key element of RSN is the Rail Partners conference. This year’s themes are enabling innovation in rolling stock and transforming depots. Innovation is key. But, to what extent can it deliver higher performing and more cost-effective rolling stock? Especially given the need to support new and existing fleets. Debate will also centre on the role of depots. How can they enable a high performing railway? Equally, how do depots help create great places to work.

For us, a highight of RSN is Meet the Buyer. It’s an exclusive opportunity for exhibitors to meet procurement specialists. Many well-known industry businesses are keen to identify new suppliers. Amongst those involved in the by appointment meetings are Hitachi, Porterbrook and Alstom.

Young rail professionals
Rolling Stock Networking 2024 has an eye to the future. It takes the form of the Trailblazers Breakfast. Organised by the Railway Industry Association (RIA) and supported by the Young Rail Professionals (YRP) it’s a free event for young rail professionals. Featuring the Early Careers Workshop, it brings together young and experienced people from across the industry. The idea is to learn from each other. The forum also provides an opportunity to make new connections. Ultimately, the aim is a vibrant and diverse rail workforce.
